Manufactured in 1942-44 by TALON, the founding manufacturer of Zipper, this is a wartime open zipper, Black (after-dyed).
Since deveroped late 1930s, the inter locking slider has been used with little trouble and is stable and comfortable to use. The zippers introduced here are for replacement US Navy deck jackets and US Motor cycle jackets from the 1940- 50s.

Shortening the zipper:
When you take off the teeth from the zipper for shortening, you will see the original tape color(brown) will come out under the teeth you take off. It needs to dye the original tape color(brown) by a "Fabric Brush Marker-Black" or something as your necessary.
