Talon is known as the originator manufacturer of Zippers. The Teeth design, slider of the lock mechanism, the mechanism of the separate end ...., all had a great influence on other zip manufacturers. Talon succeeded to complete the modern style of zippers by a press method in mid-10s. They also succeeded in developing the separate end zippers in early 30s. The improved separate end zippers in the late 30s is almost same style as the modern zippers. In a meanwhile, the slider developed in the late 30s were very reliable. Talon completed Zipper by the time War had started in 1941. Talon was used widely in military clothing and equipment including leather flight suits, with less failure, tough working, a zipper manufacturer representative of the WWII.

Manufacturing method, zip teeth design, the lock mechanism of the sliders are very different from the other zipper manufacturers. This unique zip manufacturer, CROWN always took the die-cast (high-pressure casting) method for the zip teeth manufacturing, against the most of zip manufacturers led by TALON took press method for their zip teeth, until reaching the end the mid-1960s from the time of its founding start in mid-30s. Zip teeth manufactured by die-cast method at the start was also referred to as a chevron type from place reminiscent of V-shaped sleeve rank insignia (Chevron) in the military, a spring that has been used in conjunction with zip teeth of this unique chevron type is incorporated unique mechanism of the slider, elegant design, not stop to attract a lot of CROWN zipper fan even in the current a lapse of 60 years are produced. This chevron type of zip teeth was a strength in slight problem, then, but Crown was forced to model change of the teeth design, exquisite craft zipper of this very Art Deco style, CROWN - War in the early and late type not help but recognize the much more attractive to compensate for the slight strength problems not even CROWN zipper fan. The zip teeth design was improved in 1942. Below is the advertisement advertised on American aviation magazine "AERO DIGEST" in March 1944. The ad announced how their new Crown Zipper works well.
