In 50-70s, "Reflective Tape" often seen in US Air Force flight clothing. Needless to say, the purpose is to discriminate pilots, air crews, and grand crews in night operations / training. Reflective Tape, 1", Sew on
Width: ：1" (2.54cm)
Surface: High Visibility Reflective Fabric Tape in Silver Gray
Backing Fabric: 65% Polyester / 35% Cotton
Sew on: If possible, sew 2-2.5 mm from the tape edge with a sewing machine. It seems that the color of the sewing thread usually matches the fabric color of flight clothing, but there seems to be no special regulation.
Position of Sew on & Usage tape width: There seems to be no particular provision, but typical positions and tape widths that are often seen will be introduced as follows. Of the introduced two tape widths, the first tape width can be seen more often than the second one.
• Cuff, 2" or 1"
• Upper sleeve, 1" or 2"
• Next to the front zipper, 2" or 1"
• Back, 1" or 2"
