We're glad to introduce here The Japanese Traditional Hand -Press Tool which works very good for attaching Press Studs. It can be operated quiet, accurately avoiding unnecessary mistakes.

1)
Make a 4mm hole (in diameter) in the fabric(leather) by a punch.
tip-1) 3.5mm holes might be better for thin fabric or leather which are easy to stretch.
tip-2) Although, you can attach this type of Press Studs without making hole previously when you use Hand -press Tool. We still recommend you to make hole especially on thick leather.

2)
Attach each Dies to the Hand-Press Tool as the images.

3)
Set the Cap & Socket to the each Dies.
tip) If you hardly put the Socket into the Die, wax around the Die.

4)
Set the fabric(leather) on the Cap through the hole. Press the handle till the Cap does not move.
tip) You might have a rent at the edge of pressing. It is still normal and can be fastened without a problem.

5)
Same as 2), attach both Dies of Post & Stud to the Hand-Press Tool as the images.

6)
Same as 3), set the Post & Stud to the each Dies. Same as 4), set the fabric(leather) on the Post through the hole. Press the handle till the Post does not move.

7)
US Military always use hard spring type for this type of Press Studs. It is really hard enough. We recommend you to wax to the spring and the around of the Stud before you press them. Otherwise, you might be having a damage on the fabric or leather when you open the studs.
