How to Fasten Top Stops!!
Kuikiri(4cm x 12.5cm)
This is a Japanese traditional wire cutter which works well for shorten No.5, No.7, No.10 zippers.
Wire Cutter(5.5cm x 15.5cm)
This is good for shorten No.3, No.5 zippers.
Flat Pliers(6cm x 16cm)
The Leading edge width is 4mm and the bottom width is 9mm. This flat faced pliers are good for fasten C-style top Stops.
- How To Fasten C-style Top stops on Talon Separating Zippers. -
1) To Fasten the Top Stop(A)
You can see the traces of removing the zip teeth on the code at the edge of the zip tape. Put the legs of the Top Stop(A) in the traces of the code. The width of the legs is same as the traces of two zip teeth so that it is not so hard for the legs to put in the code. Press the legs gently so that it will not hurt the code. Pressing is beter to do from front side and back side. Note) The left top tooth should be higher than the right top tooth when you complete the shortening the zipper.
2) To Fasten the Top Stop(B)
First, put the one leg of the Top Stop(B) in the second trace of the code. Then, push the other leg into the code along the top tooth while holding the head of the top stop. Press the legs gently so that it will not hurt the code. Pressing is beter to do from front side and back side same as Top Stop(A).
3) Adjustment of the Top Stops
Confiirm if the slider can raise to the top as the photo and can let down smoothly. If it can not be raised to the top as the photo or can not be moved smoothly, it can be conceivable that pressing the legs is not enough. Press again the legs slightly harder while being carefull not to damage the code of the tape.
- How To Fasten C-style Top stops on Talon Non-Separating Zippers. -
Top Stop(B) is generally used at the both side of Talon Non-Separating Zippers. I don't think there is a strict rule which side is higher but the left top is higher in majority case.
1) To Fasten the Top Stop(B)
