Following the 1996 and 1998 reproductions, this marks the third reproduction of the
Gold Tiger. This time, we are releasing the U.S. Type II first, with U.S. Type I also planned for release. The
"Gold Tiger Boonie Hat Standard Model" was ordered by
APA(US Army Procurement Agency) to Japanese Work Uniform Manufacturer along with the Shirt and Trousers. When this hat was added, the Gold Tiger was completed as Combat Uniforms. The visor, made of plain weave hemp fabric as the Interlining material and reinforced with 1/4-inch (approximately 6mm) wide stitching, is resistant to water and bending, making it an excellent item that was favored by many special forces members during the Vietnam War. Hemp Visor InterliningA reproduction of the hemp plain weave fabric used in the Original Boonie Hat Standard Model. Hemp is highly resistant to water and has excellent durability, making it the ideal material for the visor interlining of boonie hats used in jungle warfare.
Size StampThe size marking is stamped with the designations like "M-7 1/4" which the inch marking comes after the S, M, L....
LiningThe lining is made of black plain weave cotton fabric.
